Our Story

Shusrusha's story began in 1988, a humble start with 10 beds, born from the dedicated practice of Dr. Ashis Mukherji. In 1992. Dr. Ashis Mukherji pioneered Laparoscopic Operations in Eastern India, marking a groundbreaking achievement that placed Shusrusha at the forefront of medical advancement. Behind this growth was the steady hand of Mr. Saktipada Mukhopadhyay, a Civil Engineer by profession, whose leadership ensured a foundation of stability and progress. His vision allowed Shusrusha to flourish, building a reputation for reliable, patient-centered care.
In 2002, with Kaustubh Mukhopadhyay at the helm, marked a new era of expansion and modernization. With his leadership, Shusrusha grew from its initial 10 beds to a comprehensive 56-bed facility, including a state-of-the-art 8-bed ICU and a 5-bed HDU.
While we were already renowned for our expertise in General Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Orthopedics, Urology, and Pediatric Surgeries, we expanded our horizons. Shusrusha became a center of excellence for Medical and Geriatric care, recognizing the evolving needs of our patients. Our comprehensive outdoor polyclinic, staffed by specialists from diverse medical and surgical disciplines, further solidified our commitment to accessible, holistic healthcare.
